Stephen is Director of Computational Science at Microsoft. He leads an international, inter-disciplinary research programme, and is Head of Microsoft's Computational Science Laboratory, in Cambridge. Stephen’s job is to make, enable and accelerate transformational advances in science, and technological innovation, in areas of societal importance.
Stephen is also Visiting Professor of Biological Computation at University College, London, and a Distinguished Fellow of The National Endowment for Science, Technology & the Arts. From 2005-2010 Stephen was Scientific Advisor to the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer. Stephen is also author of the best-selling book 10 Billion.
Peter Webber has worked as an editor, a director and a producer for over 25 years. Starting off in British television, he made his mark as an award-winning documentary director with Oxford Films before moving on to make drama for the BBC.
His debut feature film was the Oscar nominated GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING, starring Colin Firth and Scarlett Johansson. His wide ranging career has seen him direct episodes of HBO's SIX FEET UNDER and the cult horror film HANNIBAL RISING.
He recently directed EMPEROR starring Tommy Lee Jones, set in 1945 Tokyo in the first days of the American occupation.
Nicolas Kent is the Creative Director of Oxford Film and Television, one of Britain’s leading independent production companies with an international reputation for popular, award-winning dramas and documentary films.
Nicolas has produced over 300 hours of landmark documentaries for TV channels around the world as well as several dramas and movies including art house hit, HILARY AND JACKIE. His productions have won worldwide recognition, with nominations for 12 BAFTA awards, 14 Royal Television Society awards, 12 Grierson awards, 5 Emmy awards and 2 Oscars.
Recent documentary highlights include THE FACE OF BRITAIN, an acclaimed history of British portraiture; OUR QUEEN, which was ITV’s highest rated documentary of the year; and A&E IN THE WARZONE, a visceral and moving insight into the human cost of the war in Syria.
Mark Bentley began his career in the film industry whilst still at university, with a student film PRIVILEGED. He was Executive Producer on RESTLESS NATIVES and subsequently worked on PROMISED LAND, SISTERS and CROOKED HEARTS both for MGM, and then on Oxford Films' double Oscar-winning RESTORATION for Miramax.
He produced Peter Webber's debut television dramas UNDERGROUND and THE TEMPTATION OF FRANZ SCHUBERT as well as SECOND GENERATION and BRADFORD RIOTS for Channel 4 and FOOTPRINTS IN THE SNOW for ITV.
Most recently he produced the award-winning festival favourite THE SECRET DIARIES OF MISS ANNE LISTER for BBC Films and the controversial feature documentaries: WIKILEAKS - SECRETS AND LIES, which had its World Premiere at the SXSW Festival, and THE WIDOWMAKER, currently premiering on Netflix.
